In the Constituency
As you may or may not know I am required to be in Westminster Monday to Thursday to represent you in Parliament. On Friday’s MPs head back to their constituencies to be available to their constituents. Here is a report back from the weekend in Mid Norfolk:
- First meeting of the Mid Norfolk Solar Farm Community Action Group in Saham Toney.
Further to the proposed solar farm that is set to be foisted on us, I convened the first meeting of the Mid Norfolk Solar Farm Community Action Group which saw 6 parishes represented. They key to effective representation is to speak with one voice – so that we have maximum impact in ensuring that the voices of our area are heard loud and clear by the developer and the government. To keep up to date on this campaign please visit: Solar Farm | George Freeman where further updates will be posted.
- Visit to Equipmake - world class engineering company developing electric vehicle powertrain systems
Due to the boundary changes, Snetterton is now in my constituency. It was great to receive an invite to visit an exciting, innovating company. Equipmake offer electric powertrain solutions for global automotive, aerospace, marine, construction & bus markets. Founded in 1997, by Managing Director Ian Foley, a highly experienced engineer who has worked in global motorsport at the highest level from Le Mans to F1. They are a UK manufacturer of electric drivetrains, electric motors, inverters (IGBT & SiC), power electronics, control systems and HVAC.
- Meeting with the CFO of Snetterton Business Park
Nestled in a strategic location with unparalleled access to major transport routes, Snetterton Business Park is a hub for businesses seeking prime commercial space. The park offers a blend of modern infrastructure, high-tech facilities, and a vibrant business community, making it the perfect environment for innovation and growth.
With a range of flexible commercial spaces tailored to meet the needs of various industries.
I was delighted to meet its CFO to discuss their future plans and how we can work together to achieve:- Norfolk-Cambridge A11 Tech Corridor
- Business Forum
- Norfolk Way Enterprise Festival & Awards
- Stow Bedon re factory farm
Stow Bedon is a new village in the Mid Norfolk constituency as per the boundary changes. Residents requested a meeting with me to tell me of the issues they are living with. Residents described to me that they currently live with a haze of ammonia, a pungent gas by-product of manure and urine, emanating from the farm. They have asked me to help ensure that this is resolved, as they are unable to enjoy their gardens when the gas becomes so pungent.
